For athletes wanting to compete for Judo Alberta at the 2014 Junior/Senior/Veteran Canadian Championships, this year we announced a new selection policy which was presented at the first provincial training camp of the season in September at the Hiro’s Judo Club in Calgary. It has also been posted on the Judo Alberta website under Policies and Procedures under Team Selection Policy.
Provincial championships are now MANDATORY as a selection tournament. Below are the minimum requirements for athletes to be selected to the provincial team.
- U16 division – Participation in Provincial championships and 1prov. training camp
- U18 division – Participation in Provincial championships plus 1 points tournament and 2 prov. training camps
- U21 division – Participation Provincial championships plus 1 points tournament and 2 prov. training camps
- Senior division – Participate in provincial championship plus 1 points tournament and 1 training camp
- Veterans – Participate in provincial championship. Pass a physical before National Championships

The Provincial Championships are on February 1st, 2014 in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
