General Information

• Tournament/Weigh-In Site: WEM Ice Palace, 8882 – 170 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta
• Friday, March 6 WEIGH-IN TIMES. ONLY ATTEND DURING YOUR DESIGNATED TIME
• U10/U12 – Check in before 7 PM
• 4-5 PM – U14
• 5-6 PM – U18
• 6-7 PM – U21 & Veteran
• March 6-8, 2020 (NOTE: DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ON SUNDAY)

Registration Information

• On-line Registration opens December 15, 2019; No email or mailed entries will be accepted.
• Regular Registration closes February 22, 2020 at 23:59 MST
• Late registrations close on February 29, 2019 at 23:59 MST. NO registrations will be accepted after.
• Coach registration is MANDATORY for access to joseki & is available until February 29, 2020.
• NO Coach registration will be accepted after February 29 or at the tournament site.
• Referee registration is requested.

Eligibility

• Open to all members of Judo Provincial/Territorial Associations and IJF Associations of other countries.
• Minimum rank is YELLOW.
• All participants must provide proof of current affiliation at weigh in.
• All Canadian participants must provide their current Judo Canada Membership Card at weigh in. U16 & older MUST provide photo ID.
• Foreign participants must email a copy of their current judo membership & a letter of affiliation from their country’s judo organization to registrar@edmontonjudo.com.

2020 Judo Alberta Provincial Championships

The 2020 Judo Alberta Provincial Championships will be hosted by the Tolide Judo Club on March 28, 2020 at the Dow Centennial Centre (8700 84 St, Fort Saskatchewan, AB T8L 4P5).

Weigh-Ins: (Friday March 27, 2020)

7:00PM-8:30PM @ Dow Centennial Centre

Remote Weigh-Ins: (Friday March 27, 2020)

7:00PM-8:00PM @ Red Deer Judo Club, Unit 6 – 87 Petrolia Drive, Red Deer, AB

7:00PM-8:00PM @ Hiro’s Judo Club, #115, 1919-27 Avenue NE, Calgary, AB

Regular registration will be open until March 14, 2020 and late registration will be accepted until March 21, 2020.

RTC Elite Athlete Funding Announcement

The Judo Alberta Coaching Committee would like to congratulate the following athletes who have been granted RTC elite athlete funding. Funding is based on performance, results, commitment to training, participation and International. The coach committee nominated the following athletes for the first round of elite athlete funding for costs incurred from events participated in from September 2019 to December 2019. The next round of funding will be announced in April 2020 for competitions and training camps participated in between– December 2019 to April 2020
