January 2026 Kata Camp – Registration Now Open

Judo Alberta is pleased to announce the 2026 Southern Alberta Kata Weekend, taking place January 17–18 in Raymond and Lethbridge. This event is open to kata enthusiasts of all ages and ranks, including both practitioners and judges, and aims to provide high-quality learning opportunities in a supportive, development-focused environment. Participation is welcome from all provinces, with particular encouragement to athletes and officials from the southern Western regions.

Over two days, attendees will receive instruction from a distinguished group of clinicians: Gord Okamura, An Hor Chhay, Jennifer Parker, and Scott Allan. The program includes kata clinics, guided demonstrations, and constructive feedback sessions designed to enhance technical understanding and performance.

This clinic qualifies for 5 Technical Stream points toward black belt promotion for both participants and kata judges.

Saturday, January 17 – Raymond Judo Club (Victoria Sports Park, 350E 100N, Raymond, AB)
• 9:00–12:30 – Nage no Kata Clinic (Sets 1–3)
• 12:30–1:30 – Lunch
• 1:30–5:00 – Kodokan Goshin Jutsu Clinic (weapons provided) & Photo

Sunday, January 18 – Lethbridge Kyodokan Judo Club (2775 – 28 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB)
• 9:00–9:30 – Kata Teams Warm-up / Judges Meeting
• 9:30–12:00 – Kata Demonstrations & Feedback
• 12:00–1:00 – Lunch
• 1:00–3:00 – Optional Katame no Kata Clinic
