{"id":6255,"date":"2021-05-06T16:24:25","date_gmt":"2021-05-06T16:24:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/judoalberta.com\/?p=6255"},"modified":"2021-05-06T16:25:39","modified_gmt":"2021-05-06T16:25:39","slug":"canadian-women-sport-shares-progress-of-alberta-same-game-challenge-organizations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/judoalberta.com\/index.php\/canadian-women-sport-shares-progress-of-alberta-same-game-challenge-organizations\/","title":{"rendered":"Canadian Women &#038; Sport Shares Progress of Alberta Same Game Challenge Organizations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Posted by Canadian Women &amp; Sport<a><\/a><a><\/a><a><\/a><a><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Canadian Women &amp; Sport is pleased to recognize the ten Alberta sport and recreation organizations that have been selected to join the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/womenandsport.ca\/alberta-same-game-challenge-application\/\">Alberta Same Game Challenge<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Same Game Challenge helps&nbsp;sport and physical activity organizations&nbsp;to gain a better understanding of how to engage women and girls in their sport, and to find opportunities to improve their organization and programming for everyone involved by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/womenandsport.ca\/resources\/tools\/same-game\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Same Game Online Toolkit.<\/a>&nbsp;With one-on-one support from local leadership, Alberta is one of the first provinces in Canada to actively support sport and physical activity organizations in the implementation of Same Game.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participating organizations include:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.asdccentral.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alberta Sport Development Centre<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/calgarylacrosse.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Calgary District Lacrosse Association&nbsp;<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/caltaf.com\/\">Calgary Track and Field Club (Caltaf)- Calgary T<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canmoresoccer.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Canmore Minor Soccer Club<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cowboyswrestling.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cochrane Cowboys Wrestling Club&nbsp;<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edmontonlittleleague.ca\/cpll\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Community Park Little League<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edmontontsunami.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Edmonton Tsunami Water Polo Club<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/judoalberta.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Judo Alberta<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicinehatsoccer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Medicine Hat Minor Soccer<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.winsport.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WinSport<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Alberta Same Game Challenge&nbsp;began in January 2021 and will continue through to July&nbsp;2021&nbsp;providing participating organizations with opportunities such as:&nbsp;coaching and mentorship, professional development, financial support&nbsp;and knowledge and competency to better understand how to engage women and girls in sport.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few months into the programming,&nbsp;<strong>Miles Kydd<\/strong>,&nbsp;Executive Director&nbsp;of&nbsp;Alberta Sport Development Centre \u2013 Central Alberta,&nbsp;reflects on the progress their&nbsp;organization&nbsp;has had thus far.&nbsp;\u201cOur involvement in the Same Game Challenge project has provided our organization the opportunity to assess and reflect upon our approach to gender&nbsp;equity and&nbsp;provided us significant insight as to how we can serve as change agents for our community. We believe quite strongly that working our way through the Same&nbsp;Game Toolkit&nbsp;will change and improve ASDC-Central as a community service organization and business.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBeing involved in the Same Game Challenge has been a tremendous experience for our club as we embark on a journey to promote diversity and inclusion,\u201d says&nbsp;<strong>Raine Paul<\/strong>, Head Coach Edmonton Tsunami Water Polo Club.&nbsp;\u201cThrough the Same&nbsp;Game Challenge,&nbsp;our organization has been given the resources, support and guidance to implement meaningful change at our club. There is power in community and collaboration which is an invaluable opportunity the Same&nbsp;Game Challenge has given us as we network and share best practices with our Alberta sports community.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSame Game has given&nbsp;the Caltaf&nbsp;Athletic Association the tools and support to focus on and improve gender equity in our&nbsp;organization.
