Two grants will be available in the amount of $250 each, one for southern Alberta and one for northern Alberta.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grant Timeline: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>September 1, 2019 and May 31, 2020<\/p>\n<p><strong>Provincial Minimum Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be U16 and up.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum green belt or higher.<\/li>\n<li>Must be a member in good standing with Judo Alberta.<\/li>\n<li>Must have officiated two (2) regional tournaments (ex: Lethbridge or EYJS monthly)<\/li>\n<li>Must pass their provincial C referee examination<\/li>\n<li>Must have officiated a minimum three (3) of the following tournaments in the U14 categories and below:\n<ul>\n<li>Red Deer tournament<\/li>\n<li>U of A<\/li>\n<li>Rocky Mountain<\/li>\n<li>Florence Senda<\/li>\n<li>Katsuta Cup<\/li>\n<li>Provincials<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If there are more than one candidate in an area, the referee committee will choose the winner based on ability.<\/p>\n<p>If you meet the above requirements and are interested in applying for this grant, please contact referee committee chair Tammy Thornton at <a href=\"mailto:mrst@telusplanet.net\">mrst@telusplanet.net<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thank you,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Judo Alberta Referee Committee<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Purpose: To encourage members to pursuit refereeing.
