{"id":4117,"date":"2017-08-15T15:26:47","date_gmt":"2017-08-15T15:26:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.judoalberta.com\/?p=4117"},"modified":"2017-08-15T15:26:47","modified_gmt":"2017-08-15T15:26:47","slug":"japan-2018-selection-standards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/judoalberta.com\/index.php\/japan-2018-selection-standards\/","title":{"rendered":"Japan 2018 Selection Standards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Judo Alberta will be taking a group of Canada Winter Games athletes to Japan 2018 for a training tour.<\/p>\n<p>Approximate Dates: July 17, 2018 to August 05, 2018 <\/p>\n<p>Week 1: Kodokan Training Camp, Tokyo<br \/>\nWeek 2: High School Training Camp, Katsura <\/p>\n<p>Maximum of 25 Alberta athletes will be selected for this training tour<\/p>\n<h4>1st Selection CWG Funded Athletes<\/h4>\n<p> (Funding Amount to be determined)<br \/>\nMinimum Performance Standards:<br \/>\nThere will be funding available for number 1 ranked athletes in the Canada Winter Games Selection:<br \/>\nhttps:\/\/judoalberta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/3-06-CWG-Selection-Criteria-1.pdf<\/p>\n<p>Minimum Training Standards 2017-2018 season<br \/>\n2 x National Training Camps<br \/>\n2 x Provincial Camps<br \/>\nBC Inter-Provincial Camp \u2013 Invermere, BC<br \/>\nAlberta Inter-Provincial Camp \u2013 Canmore, AB<\/p>\n<p>Note: If number 1 ranked athletes are unable to meet the minimum training standards they will be provided funding to participate in the 2018 Judo Saskatchewan Summer Camp<\/p>\n<h4>2nd Selection: Self-Funded Athletes:<\/h4>\n<p>Minimum Performance Standards:<br \/>\nGold Medal: 2017 Quebec Open or 2017 Ontario Open or 2018 Elite Nationals<br \/>\nGold Medal in both: 2018 Pacific International &#038; 2018 Edmonton Open<br \/>\nJudo Canada National H Team or better <\/p>\n<p>Minimum Training Standards 2017-2018 season<br \/>\n2 x National Training Camps<br \/>\n2 x Provincial Camps<br \/>\nBC Inter-Provincial Camp \u2013 Invermere, BC<br \/>\nAlberta Inter-Provincial Camp \u2013 Canmore, AB<\/p>\n<h4>IMPORTANT:<\/h4>\n<p> There is a high percentage of randori at these training camps in Japan. Each day will comprise of 4 to 5 hours of training a day and it is important that athletes have participated in training camps provincially, inter-provincially and at national camps to help adapt to the training load. There is an expectation that Alberta athletes have full participation at these level of camps. <\/p>\n<p>Judo Canada RTC athletes (out of province) and Judo Canada RTC outreach athletes can\/will be invited to participate in this event by RTC head coach following the selection. The Judo Alberta Coach Committee hold the rights to recommend athletes to the team who fall outside of minimum performance standards. <\/p>\n<p>Self-Funded Coaches:<br \/>\nJudo Alberta will accept self-funded club coaches.
